Promotion-chasing Doncaster Rovers travel across the Pennines to Rochdale for a League One fixture.
The Dale are unbeaten in the last three (W1, D2) across all competitions, scoring exactly two goals in both their last games and keeping a clean sheet in two of the last three.
In the league however, their form is slipping. Rochdale have one win in six (D3, L2), conceding two or more goals in four of those six. Their home form has been dire this season, with one win in six (D1, L4), conceding two or more in four while almost perversely keeping two clean sheets. They did so in the last match at Spotland against relegation-threatened Bristol Rovers, with ten men for half the game.
Doncaster returned to winning ways in midweek with a 2 – 0 win over Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy. However, they lost their last two league matches without scoring following a seven-match unbeaten run (W4, D3).
On the road, Rovers have two defeats in six (W3, D1) with the two losses being the only games they failed to score in.

Form (Last six matches)
- Rochdale: DWLLDD
- Doncaster: WWWWLL
Rochdale are unbeaten in six of the last seven against Doncaster (W3, D3) and have lost one of the last nine at Spotland against Rovers (W5, D3).
The last three all featured under 2.5 goals, a benchmark passed in only two of the last seven meetings between these two sides.
Doncaster occupy the final playoff spot at present and know the recent defeat to Accrington (seventh and one point behind) is currently proving costly. They travel to Rochdale who know three points would give them some breathing space to the relegation places with the current gap only three points.
Both sides are out of form in recent league games with Rovers shipping six points and five goals in the last two while the Dale have one win in six. Rochdale’s fundamental problem is at the back and no team has conceded more that their 25 goals in League One.
Countering that, they have scored just one goal fewer than Doncaster’s 18 goals meaning only Scunthorpe United and Peterborough United fans witnessed more goals in their games (42 in total, average 3.5 goals per game). With Rovers games averaging 2.67 goals per game, this has the makings on a high-scoring encounter.
Total Goals: OVER 2.5 – 1.80 (4/5)
