- Recent form: SK Poltava have failed to win in their last five matches (D2, L3).
- Away record: Dynamo Kyiv have won seven, drawn four and lost three of their 14 away Premier League games.
- Last meeting: SK Poltava scored an upset 2-1 away win over Dynamo Kyiv in the last head-to-head five months ago.
Dynamo’s Dynamo to outclass the hosts
SK Poltava boss Pavlo Matviychenko has attempted to build an efficient and compact 4-2-3-1 system since taking over in July 2025, but the squad simply cannot be trusted to close out even the most average of games.
Despite their solid structure and ability to cause chaos with quick transitions and fast movements down the flanks, SKP are currently 16th in the Premier League, having claimed just 12 points from 27 matches.
Their home record is even worse, picking up just one win, three draws and ten losses from 14 Premier League matches this season. They average just 0.86 goals per home match this season and so it’s no surprise to see their opponents priced at 1.1 to win on Saturday.
SKP haven’t won any of their last three home games (D1, L2). Valeriy Sad has been a rare bright spark for them this term, scoring two of their four goals in the last five games (D2, L3).
Dynamo can dominate, but are prone to the odd defensive lapse
Tactical changes and recent form
Dynamo Kyiv coach Ihor Kostiuk took over in November 2025 and has brought some tactical tweaks and a higher pressing intensity. However, their results have been mixed, winning two, drawing one and losing two of their last five league matches.
Dynamo fell to a 1-2 home loss to Shakhtar Donetsk last time out and they will be hoping their away form continues here. The visitors have won one, drawn one and lost one of their last three Premier League away matches and currently sit fourth in the table with 48 points from 27 games, meaning they’re just about on pace for European qualification.
Style and defensive issues
Dynamo play patient soccer and are excellent at probing the channels for openings. They play the ball wide and press as a unit, but sometimes the backline can be caught out. They have conceded 1.5 goals per away match in the Premier League this term, so they could get caught out at the back if they’re not on their A-game.
Dynamo can get some goals
Matviy Ponomarenko is a threat for Dynamo, bagging 12 goals in 14 Premier League appearances.
Odds of 1.1 on Dynamo to pick up the win are a bit steep for this game, but the odds on a draw of 8.0 and SKP look like a bad move. Dynamo are the rightful favourites and should win this one, but we will lean towards more goals given the clash of styles should open up space at times for both teams.
Over 2.5 goals is our main selection, with a small stakes bet going the way of a late Dynamo win.
- He has scored three in his last five and can get a goal on Saturday.
- Meanwhile, Mykola Shaparenko has been an excellent creative force for the visitors, providing three assists in their last five.
