That angle of the Semenyo goal is outrageous, honestly. The finish looks even better when you see it from a different view, proper filthy stuff.

You can understand why people are calling it disgusting and class at the same time. Not much time for anyone to react and it ends up right in the corner, which is just cruel.

Some goals are good, some are memorable, and then there are ones like this that get replayed for ages. Absolute scenes either way.
 
Have to give him credit, that is a brilliant finish. The touch and the confidence to pull it off in that moment is what makes it stand out.
 
People are acting like this was some kind of fluke but it was pure technique and nerve and thats exactly why it went in, Semenyo takes that touch and just buries it with no panic at all and everyone suddenly wants to pretend it was easy, absolute nonsense, the lad made it look sick and thats the whole point, you dont score a goal like that in a big moment by accident and then people start with the grandad eyes comments and all that crap but if your defender leaves that little bit of space you are getting punished and thats football, proper football, not whatever boring safe passing nonsense people want every week
 
From a technical point of view it is all about the first touch and how quickly he gets the shot away, because there is basically no time for the keeper to set himself once the ball drops the way it does. But honestly the more I watch it the more annoyed I get because you just know the opposition will spend the next week talking about what they should have done instead of admitting it was a ridiculous finish. It is one of those goals that makes everyone in the ground go silent for a second and then you are just sat there thinking how has he done that, how has nobody stopped him, what are defenders even for, bloody hell
 
Nah i dont buy the whole it was just a lucky bounce thing at all because the control before the finish is clearly what makes it and people are trying to downplay it like he just swung a leg and hoped for the best
 
The key detail is how little room he gives the goalkeeper to react. Once the touch is clean, the finish is already away before the defence can recover. That is why the goal looks so ruthless.
 
Honestly the more you watch it the more you realise how much of a proper moment that is because the touch is clean the finish is instant and everyone else is just frozen like they have no clue what is happening and thats what makes football great sometimes one player just decides the whole clip and you are left sitting there replaying it over and over because it is so slick and so ruthless and so annoying if it is your team because there is literally nothing you can do once it is hit like that and people can talk about luck or whatever but no mate that is class and if you deny it you are just being weird about it
 
It is one of those finishes where the angle makes it look even more ridiculous, and the more I see it the more I think the keeper barely had a chance, tbh
 
that is the kind of goal that makes you just stare at the screen for a second and say what the hell was that because the control and the finish are both mad and i cannot get over it
