Could Bournemouth or Brighton nick a Champions League spot?

its mad how one of these random last day results can change everything and then everyone acts surprised when the whole thing feels a bit fake like why are sporting getting punished for english clubs being in the right place at the right time
 
I can see why people dislike it, because it does feel odd for a sixth placed team to be in the mix for the Champions League. At the same time, if the rules grant the extra place to the league, then the league has to use it somewhere, so the outcome is not really unfair within the system.
 
Yeah because obviously the easiest path is for every team to just do exactly what the internet needs them to do
 
There is something very funny about people acting shocked that the final day might decide a Champions League place for sixth when the whole season has been building to this kind of nonsense anyway. Bournemouth and Brighton are just the names in the frame, but the real story is that the Premier League keeps turning into a giant lever for everyone else in Europe and then we all pretend it is normal, Sporting fans are right to be annoyed, the English lot are right to take the piss, and the rest of us are stuck watching the spreadsheet football circus unfold again and again and again and it never gets less stupid
