But once you start thinking about it, the whole thing spirals into how football memory works, because in ten years people will swear they always knew how good he was, and in the meantime half the internet is still arguing about who had the better peak, who had the prettier style, who had the bigger aura, and it all gets a bit absurd really because the simple truth is he was a constant problem for everyone and a massive part of why Liverpool felt inevitable in so many games and now that feeling is gone and people are acting strange about it already

Was in the pub when the clip came on and the whole place just sort of went quiet for a second even the lads who support other teams were nodding along because you do not get many players like this and I remember arguing with a mate years ago about whether he was actually that good or just in a hot streak and now it feels daft because he kept doing it season after season and every time you thought he might slow down he was there again causing chaos and the bloke behind the bar just said end of an era and that was that really
 
He was the kind of player that forces a whole back line to shift early and that opens space everywhere else, so even when he didnt score you felt his presence. Liverpool lose a huge outlet and the league loses a constant threat, simple as that
 
I dont agree with people saying this is the end of the league as we know it because clubs move on and new stars come through all the time, but that doesnt mean Salah wasnt massive or that this moment isnt a big deal. Both things can be true
 
the way some fans are acting like theyve been personally evicted from football is hilarious but fair play he gave them years of proper entertainment and probably ruined half the league on his own so i get the meltdown a bit
