Absolute scenes in Germany. Wolfsburg going down after losing to Paderborn is one of those results you just dont see coming, even if the build-up had people smelling blood from miles away.

Feels like a proper moment for anyone sick of the same old money clubs getting away with it. Paderborn will be buzzing, Wolfsburg will be in bits, and the whole thing has lit up the football internet.

Also the reaction says everything, because this has gone way beyond a normal relegation chat. People are treating it like a footballing event and honestly you can see why.

Wolfsburg have been living off this shiny corporate image for years and now it finally bites them and honestly the biggest joke of all is how they keep acting like theyre some serious powerhouse when theyve been absolutely rotten for ages, the recruitment has been a mess, the energy has been dead, and every time it matters they look like theyve got no clue what theyre doing, proper sham club stuff if you ask me

Paderborn have every right to enjoy this one, because Wolfsburg have been hanging around like a club with more money than sense for ages and somehow still managed to make a complete mess of it tbh

I know people love a relegation joke but this is genuinely massive for German football, because it feels like one of those moments where a club with all the resources in the world just gets exposed for how badly run they are. Wolfsburg were supposed to be above this sort of thing and instead theyve ended up as the punchline, and now every decision looks even worse, every summer spend looks even sillier, and the whole thing just feels like a collapse that was waiting to happen no matter how much they tried to pretend otherwise

They never looked in control of the game and thats the issue really, no intensity no proper shape and once it went against them it was just panic football from there, absolute shambles

Paderborn deserve a lot of credit for holding their nerve in a huge moment. Wolfsburg looked like the side carrying all the pressure and it showed when the game got tight.

The reaction in here is basically proof everyone was waiting for this, and honestly fair enough lol

This is a reminder that money alone does not save a club from poor planning. Wolfsburg had enough resources to avoid this but still ended up in a playoff they should have been clear of.

Wolfsburg have been getting away with being talked about like some big serious project for years but what has it actually amounted to really because every time you look at them its the same story of money being thrown around and no actual identity and now theyve gone and made themselves the joke of the whole weekend and honestly you cannot even say its unlucky because theyve been flirting with this for ages and the whole thing is just pure chaos from top to bottom and Paderborn have basically exposed the lot of them

The officials were a joke all night as well because in a game like that you need consistency and instead you get every tiny thing dragged out, every little stoppage, every bit of drama and then people act shocked when the whole thing boils over, it was already tense enough without the ref making himself part of it and I swear these playoff games always end up feeling like one long argument with a whistle

paderborn just looked more up for it and wolfsburg looked like they were waiting for someone else to save them, which is exactly why theyre down now because you cant coast through a game like that and expect anything else
