The officials have somehow made this whole thing about themselves again because every time West Ham are in the news there is always some nonsense about optics, gestures and who looked at what for two seconds and it is exhausting, the bloke reacts to relegation news and suddenly people are debating his sincerity like he is on trial, meanwhile the actual issue is the club going down and somehow the ref and the broader footballing authorities always manage to stay in the background while making the entire conversation feel poisoned, it is honestly a joke how often officials and the surrounding circus turn a normal football moment into a load of pointless noise and then everyone is meant to act surprised when supporters are furious and fed up and talking bollocks all over again
