Atleti want €150m for Alvarez

barca fans always end up in these threads talking like the player has already signed and the money will magically appear somehow the whole thing is just noise and atleti know it which is why they can say whatever number they want and wait for everyone to panic
 
I get why Atleti are asking for the moon, but the actual buying club still has to make sense of it all. If Barca really want him, they would need to decide whether he is the priority or just another nice idea in a summer of nice ideas, imo

The officials will probably get dragged into this at some point because the whole thing is going to be used as another example of how the game is bent for the biggest clubs, the asking price gets laughed at, the selling club gets painted as greedy, the buying club gets the sympathy, and somehow the actual football gets lost in all the noise and then you wonder why every transfer talk turns into a circus with people blaming referees, boards, accountants, agents, everyone except the fact that clubs just keep inflating prices and pretending it's normal
 
Alvarez is a good player but the way people talk about him youd think hes some untouchable saviour and not just a striker who needs the right team around him, the whole thing is getting ridiculous because every time he has a good spell the fee goes up another nonsense amount and then everyone acts shocked when clubs dont bite, he is not some mythical superstar that automatically fixes everything and yet the hype machine will keep going because thats what football does now, if he actually ends up staying then half the fanbase will pretend they always knew it was impossible and the other half will call him loyal and honestly im already tired of it
