Saw this and just laughed because football never stops finding new ways to be ridiculous and now I am going to spend the rest of the day explaining it badly to my mates like I understand the whole thing

If we are being honest the whole conversation is getting too wrapped up in the stat and not enough people are actually talking about the player himself because some lads get remembered for one strange line on a graphic and then everyone acts like that is the full story, which is unfair enough already, but the way people are throwing around names and comparisons is even worse, because he is not some finished merchant or some random joke, he is a footballer who has ended up in a weird bit of history and that does not suddenly make him a punchline forever, the internet loves to decide someone is either elite or useless based on a single headline and then never lets go, absolute nonsense
 
It is a strange achievement, but not every weird stat needs to be treated like a fraud case. The jokes are predictable, yet the underlying point is still that football produces absurd history all the time.
