Mbappe 100% fit for the semi

The interesting bit is not whether he plays but how France use him if he is not quite 100 percent and that is where the whole thing gets messy, because if he is on the pitch you have to respect the threat immediately and that changes the whole shape of the game for the other side. But at the same time people are talking like this is some unstoppable force and it is not that simple, there are always trade offs and if he is carrying anything at all then you can target that, you can force decisions, you can make them think twice, and then suddenly the big story becomes whether he can actually dominate or whether he is just there to draw attention, which is exactly the sort of thing that turns a semi final into a proper tactical scrap and then everyone ends up screaming anyway
 
The key question is not fitness in the abstract, it is whether he can explode over short distances without any hesitation. If he can, France can play direct and stretch the back line; if not, they may need to build more through possession and protect him a bit.
 
Of course hes 100 percent fit because this is the semi final and everyone knows nobody ever misses the semi final unless they are literally carried off in bits and even then they probably try to play through it because this is the game that defines the whole tournament and you can already see the headlines if he scores or if he does nothing and thats the whole joke with these injury updates anyway every time a superstar is involved its either dramatic panic or obvious he was always going to be there and this one is exactly that because France arent leaving him out for anything and everyone pretending otherwise is just farming clicks
 
On paper this is straightforward enough, the coach says he is fit, the player is available, and the semi final goes ahead with the biggest name on the pitch. But the moment someone like Mbappe is involved the conversation stops being about availability and turns into pure obsession, every touch becomes a story, every sprint becomes a verdict, and every fan starts acting like they have personally diagnosed him, which is why the whole thing gets ridiculous so quickly and then people wonder why the atmosphere is so over the top, because it is always about him and it is always too much and I swear if he scores the internet will be unbearable
 
People saying it was guaranteed are acting like fitness updates are meaningless when a tournament is this far in and that is just wrong, you do not casually send out a star if there is any real doubt so the fact Deschamps is saying this matters and it tells you they are confident enough to build around him again
 
France are clearly more dangerous with him available, but the bigger issue is whether the rest of the side can feed him in good areas. If they do, he changes the game immediately. If they do not, his presence alone will still force the opposition to adjust.
 
It is not surprising, but it does matter. When a player like Mbappe is declared fit, the entire game plan for both sides changes because nobody can ignore that threat.
