From a business angle, United getting a decent chunk back is the only part that makes any sense. But the whole transfer is still going to be remembered for the backlash, not the numbers, imo
 
i just cant get over how every time i open the app its another club making itself look stupid and then acting like the fans should just move on and accept it because football is football and that is exactly why people are fed up
 
People keep acting like this is some normal transfer debate but it is not really about football ability at all its about whether a club is willing to swallow the backlash and clearly Fener are fine with doing that
 
The officials in football always find a way to make these things worse because they let the whole circus roll on and on with zero accountability and then act surprised when clubs start treating everything like a PR exercise instead of having any standards at all and this is exactly the sort of signing that should have people in charge asking what message they are sending to fans and to players and to everyone else watching because once the money gets involved nobody seems to care about the damage anymore and the people on top just hide behind process and vague statements while the rest of us are left watching another club try to sell a rotten decision as ambition and it is absolutely infuriating
 
I get why people are angry, but some of the pile on is starting to feel like everyone wants the fans to carry the whole burden for a decision made above them. The supporters did not negotiate the fee, they did not set the salary, and they did not build the whole mess around one player, they are just stuck watching their club make a choice they may not even agree with. There are people in that fanbase who will hate this move from day one and still have to watch the team every week, and pretending they are all equally responsible is lazy. The club has made the call, the board owns it, and the blame should stay there
 
the way some people are pretending this is just a normal football signing is embarrassing like no mate this is exactly why everyone is calling them out and rightly so
 
The structure suggests Fener see this as a long-term attacking piece rather than a short-term punt. Even so, the public reaction will dominate the story for a long time, and that is before he even kicks a ball. Clubs rarely get to separate footballing value from moral judgement in cases like this, and this one will not be any different.
