Santa Fe knock River out on pens

I dont think this is just one bad night for River. The gap between expectation and reality has been there for a while, and this result only makes it louder.

There is a tendency to turn every River result into a total collapse story, but I think this one is better explained as a classic knockout football trap. Santa Fe clearly believed in their plan, and once the match reached penalties the edge shifted to the side that looked calmer under stress. River still have the bigger profile, but that does not guarantee control when the margins get tiny.

This is one of those results that makes sense in a footballing way even if it looks shocking on paper. The bigger club carries more pressure, the underdog gets freedom, and penalties strip everything down to nerve and execution. Santa Fe deserve credit for handling that better, while River will have to eat the frustration and answer some uncomfortable questions.
