Pisa and Cremonese are two of the most in-form teams in Serie B 2024-2025 and this clash between the second and fourth-placed sides is a mouth-watering prospect. Both teams have played some excellent football in recent weeks and this should be a tough and tight game between two sides that have a similar record against each other in this Serie B campaign. Cremonese have won one and drawn two of their last three Serie B trips, while Pisa are unbeaten in three at home (W1, D2). The head-to-head record between these two in Serie B 2024/2025 is level at one win apiece, but Pisa are yet to win at home to the Lombardy side in their latest encounters. The last meeting, a 3-1 away win for Pisa, was six months ago, so it is difficult to draw any conclusions from that result. Cremonese have been excellent on the road in Serie B 2024/2025, losing just four of their 18 away trips (W9, D5, L4) and conceding an average of just 1.06 goals per game on their travels (19 in total). Pisa have been just as good at home, losing only two of their 18 home games this campaign (W12, D4, L2) and scoring 35 goals in the process.
Giovanni Stroppa’s appointment in November 2024 has been a masterstroke by Cremonese as his proactive approach has given the team a new lease of life. His side have been scoring goals and creating chances in their last three games – a 0-0 draw away to Sampdoria, a 1-1 home draw with Sassuolo and a 3-2 away win at Spezia. Cremonese will push men forward and play a high-tempo game, which can suit them on the counterattack as they press hard and win the ball back in the opposition half. The visitors will look to exploit the space in behind Pisa’s full-backs and wide midfielders with their pacey wingers, while box-to-box midfielder Charles Pickel can provide the energy and goals in the middle of the park. Pisa are a more pragmatic side, although Filippo Inzaghi has done a great job since taking over in July 2024 to make them more of a threat going forward. They can be equally as dangerous when they sit deep and play with a mid or high block, as they can be compact at the back and controlled in possession.
Matteo Tramoni is Pisa’s main goal threat, with the Italian forward scoring a lethal 13 goals in just 25 Serie B appearances this season. Gaetano Masucci is another creative spark that can unlock defences with his experience and flair, while Cremonese have in-form Franco Vazquez up front to cause problems – the Argentine striker has scored nine goals in 26 Serie B games this season. Both teams have been positive in recent games and the over 2.5 goals market at 1.74 looks tempting for those looking for some fireworks in this Serie B clash. But with so much at stake, it could be a moment of brilliance that settles this contest between two evenly-matched sides.
