- Las Palmas have won their last two La Liga meetings with Valencia CF, including a 3-2 victory away six months ago.
- Las Palmas have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five La Liga games, including a 1-0 home win over Atletico Madrid.
- Valencia CF have won three and drawn two of their last five La Liga games, including consecutive 1-1 draws.
Las Palmas are 18th in La Liga 2024-2025 with 32 points from 33 games and in deep trouble in the relegation dogfight. Valencia CF are 14th with 39 points from 33 games and will be looking to pull a little further clear of the drop zone. The latest odds suggest Valencia CF are the favourites to win at 2.35, but Las Palmas are a decent 3.35 and a draw is also available at 2.20. The draw seems a bit short, but the hosts have some form against Valencia and will be up for this one. Diego Martinez has been in charge of Las Palmas since October 2024 and has tried to get his team to dominate the ball and play a patient, possession-based style. The team has technical quality and has at times dominated games at home, but the results have been inconsistent. Valencia CF have been much more pragmatic under Carlos Corberan, who took over in December 2024. The squad is well organised and compact, with structured lines and fast counters.
Javier Guerra has scored two of Valencia’s last six goals and is a livewire in midfield at the moment. Hugo Duro is the top scorer for the visitors with eight goals in 26 La Liga games and his finishing ability will be vital away from home. Oliver McBurnie has scored two of Las Palmas’s last six goals and is in form in his last five games. Top scorer Fabio Silva remains their biggest threat, however, with 10 goals from 24 league appearances, so he will be the man to watch up front. Both teams have conceded too many goals to be entirely convincing for safety, so the ‘both teams to score’ market looks a good option at the quoted odds. Las Palmas have conceded 24 goals at home this season, an average of 1.50 per game, while Valencia have scored 0.88 goals per away game and conceded 1.88. This game could be a midfield battle for a while as Martinez’s men try to probe for a way through and Corberan’s side sit back and wait to counter. But with both teams in need of the points, neither will give an inch and this could be a nervy encounter.
