Liverpool's record-breaking season in reverse

There is a real tactical issue here beyond the headline numbers. If a team is conceding this many goals, it usually means the midfield is not protecting the defence well enough and the rest defence is getting stretched too easily. That is the sort of problem that does not disappear with one or two tweaks.

People keep blaming the manager like that is the whole story and it is not because this side has had issues all over the pitch and when the squad is built badly you end up with these ugly numbers no matter who is in charge, Liverpool are not suddenly a bad club but they have absolutely been dragged down by a mix of poor balance, poor defending and not enough control in games and now everyone is acting like the sky has fallen when really the warning signs were there ages ago and the people who built this mess should be getting just as much heat as the bloke on the touchline

It is fair to say the results are unacceptable for Liverpool, but I would not pin everything on Slot alone. The poor defensive record suggests wider issues in the squad and recruitment, and those will not disappear just because one person is replaced.

cant believe ppl are still trying to spin this as progress its 19 losses and 52 goals conceded thats not unlucky thats a proper mess and every week it just gets more embarrassing

Liverpool fans are going to be split on this for weeks because the numbers are awful but the context is messy too, and I can see why some people want patience while others want a clean break. Either way, it feels like the club is at a proper crossroads tbh
