Haaland rocks up in Norway with a raccoon

A sensible reading of this is that he simply found something memorable and brought it home, which is fine, but the internet has obviously decided it is now part of his mythology and that is where it gets funny because one photo like this can completely change how a player is framed in the public imagination and suddenly everyone is writing little stories about his trip and what he bought and who he met and whether he has some secret obsession with American roadside shops, and honestly that says more about us than it does about him because we will turn any odd little detail into a whole personality trait if it amuses us enough

At first glance it is just a funny picture, but the more you look at it the more it feels like peak Haaland because he somehow makes the strangest things look normal and the normal things look ridiculous. People are saying it is just a souvenir and maybe it is, but come on, who carries home a raccoon like that and does not immediately become a legend for it, this is exactly the sort of thing that makes him impossible to dislike unless you are already annoyed by how good he is and now he is out here doing this as well, ridiculous honestly

I am genuinely laughing at how much this has cheered me up because it is such a stupid image and yet it feels completely perfect for him somehow

People keep acting like this is some normal little souvenir but if you are going to come for Haaland you have to come correct because the man has probably got a whole collection of bizarre junk from everywhere he goes and this raccoon is just the one that got photographed, I bet there are shelves full of random oddities and half the fun is that he clearly does not care what anyone thinks, which is why this whole thing is so funny, because some players try so hard to look cool and he just strolls in with a stuffed raccoon and makes everyone else look boring

The funniest part is how the photo makes him look completely unfazed, like he has done this exact thing a hundred times. It is a tiny reminder that footballers are still just weird lads with money sometimes, and that is why moments like this land so well.
