AC Milan clean house after shock boardroom purge

Saw a lad in the pub the other week who was wearing an old Milan top and he was already moaning about the club before this news even dropped, saying it feels like every time they start to get somewhere they pull the rug and do something daft, and honestly this is exactly the sort of thing he would have laughed at and then ordered another pint over because it is so peak Milan to wake up one morning and decide the entire structure needs binning, I remember years ago watching a group of lads argue over whether a reset ever actually works in football and one of them said clubs always think they are one cleanout away from becoming sensible but they never are because the same chaos just comes back in a different suit and this feels like that all over again

nah i dont buy the idea that this automatically fixes anything because sacking everyone at once doesnt mean the next lot will be competent and if the people doing the hiring are the same clowns then youre just rearranging the deck chairs

this is exactly why people laugh at milan because they always manage to make it sound like a grand strategic move when really it is just a massive panic button hit by people who have run out of ideas and now everyone is pretending there was a masterplan all along and the funny thing is if the next appointment goes well they will all say it was brave and decisive but if it goes badly which with this club is always a live possibility then it will be called chaos and recklessness and frankly both can be true because the whole thing has been a mess for ages and you cannot keep mixing short term fixes with long term slogans and expect anybody to take it seriously

The officials will get away with no blame as always but they are part of the wider mess too because when a club is already this unstable every little decision becomes another excuse for panic and you can see how the atmosphere just turns toxic and the people in charge start swinging wildly at everyone except themselves, and if you are Milan you have to own the fact that this did not appear overnight, the recruitment issues the boardroom noise the constant second guessing all of it has been building and now theyve gone for the nuclear option and maybe that is fair enough but the refereeing and the constant little moments that never go your way only add to the feeling that the whole thing has been allowed to rot from the inside and nobody stepped in soon enough
