Absolute madness in this one. Argentina looked dead and buried after going 2-0 down, and then somehow it all flips on its head in the final minutes.

That late winner has completely changed the mood, and you can already see the meltdown from both sets of fans. Egypt must be gutted after being so close, while Argentina have pulled off one of those wins that feels like pure chaos from start to finish.

The whole thing has that proper scriptwriters have lost the plot energy about it. What stood out most to you: the comeback, the collapse, or just the sheer drama of the finish?
 
That is a massive swing in momentum and Egypt just could not recover from it. Argentina stayed in the game long enough for the late pressure to tell, which is often all it takes at this level.
 
i had switched off for a bit thinking it was done and then all of a sudden it was complete madness i cant even process how that turned around so fast
 
The key was Argentina keeping the tempo high after going behind. Once Egypt stopped dealing with the pressure, the gaps opened up and the late winner became inevitable. It was more about persistence than anything flashy.
 
How do you go from being in complete control to letting it slip like that it is actually embarrassing and people will pretend it was some heroic comeback but that is just a collapse dressed up as drama
 
People are going to pile on Egypt now and act like they were never in the game but that is nonsense because they were organised for most of it and had Argentina rattled for long stretches and you can say what you want about the ending but it is brutal to be on the receiving end of that kind of late swing when you have worked so hard for it and one mistake changes everything and suddenly everyone is calling it a choke when really football can just be unbelievably cruel and a bit random and that is the part that hurts most because you can play nearly perfectly and still end up with nothing and everyone laughing at you
