Arsenal 1-1 Como: Baturina levels it

Was in the pub when the goal went in and you could feel the whole room change because there were a couple of Arsenal lads who were acting far too confident before that and then all of a sudden they were staring at the telly like somebody had just nicked their pint, proper silence for a few seconds and then one of the Como supporters at the bar started laughing and I swear the whole place turned into a bit of a circus after that because everyone was taking the mickey and saying Arsenal had been taught a lesson by a team nobody had been talking about five minutes earlier

This is exactly why people need to stop acting like a match is finished just because one side looks comfortable for a bit because the second you lose concentration for one minute the whole thing flips and everyone starts screaming about mentality and structure and game management and all the rest of it, and honestly Arsenal have been doing that to themselves here by letting Como believe they can get at them and once that happens the whole crowd and the whole energy changes and then every touch feels heavier and every pass gets judged like its the last one of the night

arsenal need to calm it down a bit here because once the game gets stretched como are always going to fancy nicking something and you can see the momentum shifting every time they get a runner in behind so it is on the midfield to slow it all down and stop it turning into a proper scrap

A level scoreline at this stage does not automatically mean Arsenal are in trouble, but it does show how fragile control can be when the spacing goes. The bigger point for me is that Como have made the most of a moment and that should be respected, because you cannot just dismiss that as luck. Still, I can already hear the usual overreactions coming from every angle and it always turns into the same debate about mentality, tactics and whether one goal means the whole project is broken, which is a bit ridiculous when the match has only just shifted and there is still plenty of time for either side to settle it
