Ayman Hussein held at Chicago airport

So now we are at the stage where every time a footballer lands in the country we have to brace for another ridiculous story and people still want to pretend this is all fine and normal, no it is not fine, it is a complete joke, and the more they try to explain it away as admin the more it sounds like they are making excuses for a system that clearly was not ready for the scrutiny that comes with hosting a World Cup, honestly it feels like they are winging it and hoping nobody notices but everybody notices and now the whole thing is getting laughed at before it has even begun

Ayman Hussein is getting dragged into a mess that should never be about him in the first place because the story is not his football, it is the fact that a player can be held for seven hours at Chicago airport and suddenly the whole tournament conversation becomes about border control instead of the sport, and that is on top of the photographer not being allowed in which makes it sound even more chaotic, and if you are a striker preparing for a massive event that is the last thing you need, you want clarity, you want routine, you want to know the people organising the tournament have their act together, but instead you get this nonsense and then everyone online starts turning it into a referendum on the host country and honestly I cannot blame them because it keeps happening and it keeps looking worse and worse and I am sick of seeing football dragged through the mud by basic incompetence
