Bayern tell Perez to save himself the trouble over Olise

This is mostly about leverage, not just emotion. Bayern are signalling that they do not need to negotiate and that any approach will be on their terms. It does not guarantee Olise stays forever, but it does make Madrid work much harder for any conversation.

I cant lie this kind of statement just makes me laugh because you know the rumour mill is going to spend the next month pretending it means something more dramatic than it does and every fanbase will pick a side and start arguing over a quote like it is a transfer window final

I will defend Bayern on this one because people keep acting like they should just roll over whenever a giant club gets mentioned, but that is not how it works and never has been, they have every right to say Olise is not for sale and to remind everyone he is under a long term contract, and the whole idea that every top player is automatically available is exactly what ruins football discourse, because if a club builds something they should be allowed to keep it for more than five minutes before the usual vultures circle, and if Madrid do not like that then maybe they should build their own squad without assuming the rest of Europe exists to feed them

The key point here is that Bayern are setting the tone before any formal bid exists, which is smart because it changes the burden onto Madrid and forces them to either walk away or pay up massively. It is not even really about one player at this stage, it is about showing that Bayern have no need to sell and no interest in being pushed around. And honestly good on them because the whole Madrid transfer machine behaves like the rest of football should just sit there and clap while they pick whoever they want, piss off with that

Bayern are doing the right thing here, because if you let the story become open season then suddenly every journalist is writing about bids that do not exist and every fan is acting like the move is inevitable, and then it gets messy fast. They are trying to keep the focus on the fact that Olise is their player and that should be respected, but of course Madrid never let that happen, they always keep pushing and pushing and then act offended when someone tells them no, proper annoying behaviour honestly

It is a strong public stance, but not every statement needs to be read as a permanent guarantee. Bayern are clearly trying to control the narrative early.

honestly this is just bayern reminding everyone they aint some shop window club and thats fair enough because if you let real madrid set the tone then every story becomes about them and not about the player or the team and im sick of that whole routine tbh

I dont buy the idea that this is some huge power move though, it is mostly just a club saying what every club says when they do not want to talk, and if Madrid actually want him then a statement isnt stopping anything on its own so people need to relax a bit

The sensible reading is that Bayern are trying to avoid being dragged into a public auction before anything has even happened. That part makes sense. But if you zoom out a bit, this is also exactly the kind of quote that feeds the machine, because now every outlet can spend days pretending there is a duel on when the real story may just be a club protecting its position and a president having a bit of fun with a microphone, and then somehow it always turns into the same old talk about power, prestige, pulling factor, and all the other buzzwords people use when they want to sound deep about transfers
