Bellingham's insane clearance vs Mexico

People can clown the defence all they want but England are still in this because the lads are working their socks off and trying to keep the shape while Mexico are throwing everything at them, and Bellingham being everywhere is part of that but it is not like the rest of the side are standing around doing nothing, sometimes a game gets messy and you just need someone to stick a leg in and keep it alive, that is football, not every moment has to be some grand indictment of the whole team, and honestly if you are watching this and only seeing mistakes then you are missing the effort and the pressure Mexico are putting on them, it is not as simple as saying the defence is shit and that is that
 
He is so composed in the middle of all this chaos, and that is the bit that stands out most to me. When the game starts to tilt and everybody else looks frantic, he somehow stays balanced and makes the decisive action. Then the whole thing just gets messier and messier and you can feel the tension building because England are not controlling anything, they are surviving it, and if they keep doing that then something is going to break eventually and I do not know how many more times he can keep dragging them through it
 
The clearance is impressive, but it also highlights how open England are becoming. Mexico are winning too many loose moments, so England need better spacing around the ball. Bellingham is compensating for that with sheer anticipation.
 
You can see why managers love him in games like this because he never hides and he keeps finding the dangerous zones even when the match is a mess. England still look far too stretched for comfort though and that cannot keep going forever tbh
 
It is a huge moment, and it deserves the praise it is getting. At the same time, England are relying on individual brilliance rather than control, which is a risky place to be. Mexico have clearly made this uncomfortable for them.
 
The main point is that Bellingham has the awareness to read danger early, which is why he keeps ending up in these moments. But honestly the whole thing turns into a wider conversation about England's balance, because if your best midfielder is having to clear off the line and rescue everything then you are asking too much of him and probably too little of the rest of the team, and that kind of reliance usually catches up with you at some point, especially when the opposition keeps pressing like this and you keep seeing the same gaps opening up again and again
 
This is exactly why people go on about him so much because he never stops and he never disappears and he never looks bothered by the moment but England as a whole are making this way too hard for themselves because the back line keeps getting dragged around and it feels like every second ball is a panic station and if they keep defending like this then no amount of Jude magic is going to save them forever because at some point you need the team to actually settle down and play football instead of just surviving it every other minute
 
How is that not being dealt with earlier though the officials have let the whole thing get scrappy and now every contact turns into a scramble and that suits nobody because once the tempo gets messy the players start making desperate decisions and then everyone is moaning about the same incident over and over again and it just kills the flow of the game the referee needs to get a grip and stop letting it become a full on circus because England are already under enough pressure without the whole thing turning into a chaos fest
 
I do not care how much talent he has, the way England are leaning on him is ridiculous and it is going to burn him out if they keep asking him to fix every problem on the pitch, he is not just making tackles and clearing danger he is basically carrying the emotional weight of the whole side and at some point somebody else has to step up because this cannot just be the Jude show every single time, brilliant player yes but the overload on him is mad
 
bellingham is just reading everything before it happens and thats why he keeps ending up in these moments england still look a bit all over the shop though and if mexico keep forcing turnovers like this then one mistake is going to cost them
