Bellingham's insane clearance vs Mexico

At a tactical level, the key issue is that England are losing too many second balls and leaving Bellingham to clean up the mess. That is not a sustainable way to control a match. And honestly it is starting to annoy me how often this side looks like it is being held together by one player because the structure behind him is giving me a headache and if they do not sort it out soon they are going to get punished hard

That moment shows why he is so valuable in high-pressure matches. He combines anticipation, recovery speed, and courage in one action, which is rare. England will still need to tighten up behind him, though, because they cannot keep depending on emergency defending.

Jude is basically doing a 4 man job here and the rest of them are just hanging on for dear life while Mexico keep coming at them like theyve got five extra players on the pitch absolute madness

Was in the pub with a couple mates and one of them is a proper England doom merchant who spends every international tournament acting like the whole side is finished after ten minutes and the other one is shouting at the screen every time Bellingham touches it, and this clearance had the whole place doing that awkward half cheer half groan thing because it was so obvious how important it was while also making everyone realise England were under serious pressure, then some bloke at the bar starts saying he would rather have players who just clear their lines instead of trying to be fancy and honestly by the end of it everyone was just laughing because Jude had somehow become the best defender, midfielder and emergency firefighter in the room and the atmosphere went completely mental after that because you could feel everyone thinking the same thing that if he keeps doing this all night then England might actually get away with it somehow
