Bournemouth make Europe for the first time

Evanilson gets talked about like some hidden gem and maybe he is but every time I watch him I just end up frustrated because he looks so tidy in build up and then there is always that one final moment where you think come on mate just hit the target or make the right choice and it never quite feels simple enough, and maybe that is harsh because he clearly helps the team and links play and does all the ugly bits but when people are hyping him up as if he is some unstoppable monster I cannot help thinking hang on a second because the finishing has to be better if you want to go even further and not just be happy with a nice season
 
The officials were all over the place and it completely kills the flow of these big moments because every tiny decision gets dragged out and nobody knows what is going on, and then when a club like Bournemouth is trying to celebrate a historic achievement you still end up talking about nonsense from the ref and the assistants and the whole thing feels like it gets in the way of what should be a proper football story, I am not saying it changed the whole season or anything dramatic but bloody hell it is exhausting when the game cannot just breathe and let the football be the point for once
 
The sensible take is that Bournemouth have probably punched above their weight all season because the coaching has been excellent and the squad has bought into it, and that should be the headline, not some fantasy about where they might have finished if one or two moments had gone differently, but then you also cannot ignore how rare this kind of rise is and how quickly people will try to normalise it because football fans love moving the goalposts the second a smaller club does well, and honestly if they keep this level then next season is going to be fascinating because they have already shown they can make life uncomfortable for the bigger teams and now they get to do it in Europe as well and that is where the story gets even better and maybe a bit ridiculous because one minute you are talking about a club surviving and the next you are wondering how far a well coached side can go before the whole thing starts feeling like a dream and then you remember football never really lets you enjoy anything without a bit of panic attached to it anyway
 
I was in the pub with a mate when the news started coming through and every one of us just kept checking the table and laughing because none of it felt real, there was a lad at the bar who supports another club and even he was saying fair play because you could tell this was one of those nights where a club makes the leap and everyone in the room knows it, and then the next round was on and people were already talking about away days and whether the ground would even be big enough and honestly that is what football is about sometimes just that stupid little buzz when your club does something you never thought youd see and you spend the rest of the night telling the same story over and over because it still sounds mad
 
I think the big thing here is that Bournemouth have made this feel believable rather than lucky. They have been organised, brave and hard to play against, and that usually means a club is doing the right things behind the scenes as well as on the pitch. But honestly I keep coming back to the emotional side of it because this is the sort of run fans dream about and then you see it actually happen and it hits different, and if Iraola does move on after all this then fair enough but what a job he has done, what a proper job, and I just hope the club do not waste the platform because they have earned the right to be taken seriously now and that is massive and if they keep this going then who knows what comes next because right now it feels like anything is possible and I am fully here for it
