Brighton want £80m for Minteh

I just cant be bothered with these stories anymore tbh every week its some mad fee and some club saying no and then the same arguments in circles, football has become a spreadsheet with shin pads

People acting like Brighton are the villains here are doing my head in because if a club does not need to sell then they are under no obligation to take the first offer that lands, especially when it is late and the buying club is clearly trying to squeeze them, Minteh might not have the biggest numbers but that does not mean he is worthless and it does not mean Brighton should just wave him off for a fee they do not like, every selling club in the league would do the same thing if the boot was on the other foot, and Liverpool fans would be calling it smart business instead of moaning about being rinsed, this is just how the market works and everyone pretending otherwise is full of it

Liverpool probably wanted to use Minteh as a direct wide option but Brighton are forcing them into a horrible choice now, either pay way over the odds or move on to someone else and lose time, and when you leave it this late the whole squad planning gets messed up too because youre not just buying a player youre buying certainty

Brighton are within their rights to hold firm if they think Minteh is important to them. Liverpool, meanwhile, are seeing the downside of doing business late and having to negotiate from a weak position. It is not especially glamorous, but it is pretty understandable from both sides.

liverpool always do this though wait til the end then act shocked when the price goes up like brighton are supposed to do them a favour because they turned up late

£80m for a winger with a name like that is comedy gold honestly the market has fully lost the plot and everyone still pretends this is serious business
