Bruno Fernandes taking the PFA Players’ Player of the Year feels about right. Whatever you think of him, there’s no denying he’s been carrying a huge amount for United for a long time now.

A lot of people still seem to underrate him, even some of his own fans at times, which is mad when you look at the level he keeps hitting. He’s got that moaning streak, sure, but plenty of people see that as frustration because he wants better from the team.

There’s also the bigger point that he’s one of those players you can’t help but wonder about if he’d been in a properly built side. Anyway, deserved award and probably not much room for argument from most of the league.

He has been one of the most decisive players in the league for a while now. Even when United have been all over the place, he has still found a way to influence games. That sort of consistency is why the award makes sense.

people acting like he is just a moaner are missing the point completely he drags that side along whether they like it or not and if united had half a clue they would have built around him years ago

Honestly the saddest part is not even the award itself its the fact United have had this level of player in the building and still somehow managed to leave him carrying everything on his own for ages and people still act surprised when he looks frustrated because what is he meant to do, smile politely while the whole thing falls apart around him, he is the one proper consistent thing in that side and it should have been obvious to everyone by now

The assist record is clearly a big part of why he got it, but the wider point is that he remains the central creative outlet for United. When a team relies on one player this much, it says a lot about both his quality and the club's lack of balance.
