Bruno Fernandes wins PFA Players’ Player of the Year

People love going after him for the body language and the complaining and the rolled eyes and all that but if you actually watch him he is constantly asking for the ball, constantly trying to make something happen and constantly having to do the job of two or three players because the rest of that midfield and attack have not given him enough support and it is exhausting even watching it never mind playing it and honestly the criticism gets lazy after a while because the man is still producing while everyone else is hiding behind excuses and that is the difference

The funny thing about this whole debate is that people will spend ages pretending there was some massive mystery here when the reality is he has been the most obvious standout for United by a mile and probably one of the few players in the league who you can always expect to show up and take responsibility when things get messy and that matters more than people want to admit because football discourse loves a clean highlight reel and hates messy leadership and Bruno is basically the king of messy leadership and somehow that is still not enough for some people which is wild

Bruno is exactly the sort of player you want when a team needs imagination and personality. He can be frustrating, but the balance of what he gives United is still clearly worth it imo

United look so much more dangerous when he gets on the ball early and starts dictating the tempo rather than waiting around for everything to go through safe passes and sideways possession they need more runners around him though because otherwise it just becomes him trying to force the issue every five seconds and that is not sustainable

People can joke about the moaning all they want but this is exactly why he gets this level of recognition, he has been the one constant in a side that changes shape, changes managers, changes ideas and somehow still ends up leaning on him every single time, and the worst part is you can tell he wants more than just personal awards he wants the club to actually match his ambition and it just keeps not happening and at some point you stop laughing and start feeling a bit sorry for the bloke because he keeps showing up and they keep wasting the best years of it and honestly if United had built properly around him this conversation would be about trophies not just individual awards and that is what stings the most
