Argentina 2-2 Cape Verde and the equaliser from Sidny Lopes Cabral has completely blown the thread apart. You do not see moments like that every day, especially in a game with a giant involved.

The reactions say it all, people are already calling it goal of the tournament and begging for Puskas talk. It feels like one of those mad football moments where nobody really cares about the context for a second, they just know they have seen something special.

Cape Verde have absolutely stolen the spotlight here and even neutrals are losing their heads. Proper reminder that football can be completely unhinged when you least expect it.
 
nah this is actually ridiculous i was just sitting here watching and then that goes in and now the whole game has turned into madness and everyone is losing it like its some kind of fifa script or something
 
i was in the pub earlier when a goal like this went in on the telly and the whole place just stopped dead for like two seconds then everyone started shouting over each other and one old lad near the bar actually stood up and clapped like it was some cup final winning screamer, football does this to people every time and thats why i love it, you can have a normal night and then suddenly some bloke you have never heard of has everyone acting like theyve won the lottery
 
the officials are probably loving this because theyve somehow managed to become background noise in a game where everyone should be talking about the football but i swear every big moment now gets dragged into some weird referee debate and half the time they just let stuff go until the game is completely out of shape and then suddenly they remember the whistle exists, absolute nonsense imo
 
People will joke about the underdog angle but Cape Verde deserve every bit of credit here because this is not some fluke punt and chase moment, they have clearly come with belief and courage and when a side plays without fear it can produce magic like this, the lads in that shirt have earned the right to celebrate a goal like that and anyone writing them off before the game should have a proper look at themselves, this is what football is supposed to be about and i dont care what badge is on the other side, that was a monster moment for them
 
That is exactly the kind of equaliser that turns a match on its head. Cape Verde have gone from outsiders to the story of the night in one moment, and Argentina will know they have been properly punished for switching off.
 
Cape Verde have been clever in the way theyve attacked the space and that goal is the payoff for being brave enough to keep taking risks instead of just sitting back and hoping for the best the movement before the finish was what made it work really
