This is the sort of moment that makes tournaments memorable. You can talk tactics all day, but sometimes one outrageous action changes the entire atmosphere and gives the underdog belief.
 
honestly i dont even know what to say because you watch football for years and then every now and again something happens that makes you feel like you are seeing the sport for the first time again and that was one of those moments, the technique, the timing, the sheer nerve to try it in that situation, it is the kind of thing that gets replayed for years and every neutral in the ground must have been out of their seat because that was pure theatre
 
Sidny Lopes Cabral has absolutely cooked everyone there, the way he takes that moment and just buries it with no hesitation is ridiculous and if people are being honest there are plenty of bigger names on the pitch who should be embarrassed because that is the sort of finish you dream about as a kid and he just goes and does it like its nothing, unreal stuff from him
 
Cape Verde have earned every bit of hype from that, because you do not score a goal like that by accident. Argentina will still be favourites in most peoples heads, but that moment has changed the whole feel of the match imo
 
From a tactical point of view, the key thing is that Cape Verde did not panic after going behind and kept their shape enough to wait for the opening. But honestly after a strike like that all the structure goes out the window and you just end up screaming at the screen because football is ridiculous and I love it and I hate it and I want to watch it again straight away
 
The larger point here is that underdogs can change the entire emotional tone of a match with one clean moment and that is why cup football is so compelling. Still, I cannot pretend I am not laughing at the chaos of it all because Argentina looked like they thought the job was done and then suddenly the stadium is in meltdown and I am sitting here trying to act sensible while absolutely not acting sensible
 
Cape Verde have every right to celebrate that because it is a proper statement moment and the confidence it must give them is huge. Argentina are going to be furious with themselves for allowing it to happen but sometimes football just smacks you in the face and this was one of those nights where the underdog spirit takes over and everybody else is left scrambling and i am completely here for it
