Cape Verde stun Uruguay in Group H chaos

Cape Verde are doing a lot of things well without the ball, especially in how quickly they recover shape after losing it. That makes Uruguay's attacks feel rushed and predictable. If they keep that discipline, they have every chance of taking the group into chaos.

I am sorry but people need to stop acting like this is all some big fairytale for everyone involved because Uruguay have been carrying pressure all tournament and then you get the same old nonsense where one player gets blamed for everything and everyone piles in like they were waiting for a chance, the keeper gets mentioned, the attack gets called useless, Bielsa gets turned into a punchline, and suddenly every mistake is treated like evidence that the whole squad is broken, which is ridiculous because Cape Verde have absolutely been good and deserve praise but the way some of you are talking about Uruguay is like theyve been reduced to a meme and not a team still fighting for their lives in the group, football fans can be proper unbearable when a big name slips up and this thread is full of people acting like they predicted all of it from the start

Cape Verde's ability to play through pressure is the biggest takeaway for me. They are not just surviving, they are actively creating chances by being calm in tight areas. That makes them much more than a feel-good story.

nah i dont buy the idea that uruguay are suddenly some shambles because of this result, cape verde have made better teams look awkward and theyve earned the right to be right there so calling it a disaster for uruguay ignores how good the opposition have been

some of you are talking like cape verde just invented football and uruguay forgot how to kick a ball, its hilarious honestly every time a smaller side gets a result people start acting like the giants are useless and the underdogs are prime barca

uruguay look shook and cape verde just keep playing like they belong here, people keep saying its a fluke but when a team can go at spain and uruguay like this its not luck its belief and a proper plan and now the whole group is a mess and i love it

I did not expect to be this invested in Cape Verde but here we are and now im checking the group every five minutes like a maniac because this is genuinely one of the best stories going and Uruguay being in trouble just makes it even more intense

Cape Verde have been incredible and I do not think people are giving them enough credit for how composed they have looked against bigger names, they were brave on the ball, they handled pressure well, and they made the game feel like it belonged to them at times, but then the ending got messy and now everyone is screaming about the referee and the free kick and whether Uruguay are cursed or just poor and honestly I can understand both sides because the football from Cape Verde was excellent while the officiating at the end felt like it sucked the life out of a massive moment and now the whole group has turned into chaos and I am absolutely here for it because this is exactly the kind of tournament nonsense that keeps you glued to the screen even when you know you should probably go to bed

Cape Verde have gone from surprise package to genuinely dangerous in a very short time, and Uruguay being on the edge now is partly their own fault and partly a credit to how well Cape Verde have played imo

Cape Verde's technical level has been the standout feature for me, especially in how they deal with pressure and keep the ball moving. Uruguay still have time to recover, but they cannot keep looking this blunt if they want to stay alive in the group.
