Chelsea eye Emi Martinez after Sanchez doubts

This is exactly why people never trust Chelsea transfers because the second there is a bit of pressure they start looking for the shiny new fix and everyone pretends it is all part of a grand plan when really it feels like they are just reacting to noise and vibes and whatever the last match looked like and if the keeper situation was actually settled then nobody would be talking about this at all but now suddenly the whole fanbase is split between wanting rid of Sanchez and acting like a world class keeper is going to walk through the door and solve everything overnight which is never how it works and yet somehow Chelsea keep trying that same trick and then acting surprised when it turns into another expensive mess
 
It feels like a move driven by reliability rather than glamour. That is probably sensible if the club genuinely do not trust Sanchez.
 
From a tactical angle a keeper like that changes how high you can hold the line and how much confidence the back four have when they are under pressure and if Sanchez is making everyone drop deeper then the whole side suffers so i can see why they are looking around even if the timing feels mad
 
of course they are already shopping for a new keeper because one bad night and suddenly the current one is treated like he has been a disaster for years its the same old routine with them
 
I dont buy the idea that this is some genius reaction to one display because clubs do not suddenly discover a keeper is shaky after one game they already knew what they had and if they move now its because the whole recruitment line was flimsy from the start
 
Robert Sanchez has become the easiest target in football and that is partly because every touch he makes gets magnified and partly because people love a meltdown but if Chelsea are already acting like he is hopeless then that says as much about the club as it does about him because keepers need a run of games and a bit of faith and instead he gets one mistake and the whole machine starts looking for a replacement and then everyone piles in and the lad is basically cooked before the season has properly started and it is a horrible way to do business and if he does leave i hope he at least gets some respect because the way fans turn on a keeper is mad and the second he makes one save everyone will pretend they never doubted him
