People calling these players disposable are chatting absolute rubbish because if they were truly disposable you would not have had so many clubs interested in them and you would not be getting this kind of money back for them, City have clearly built a squad with value and now they are cashing in on it, which is exactly what a well run club does, so all the jokes about laundering and charges are easy cheap shots that ignore the fact they have still managed to sell well and keep control of the rebuild, and yes before anyone starts i know everyone hates hearing that but it is true and i am not having some nonsense take that says this is all fake because the numbers are in dollars
 
The interesting part here is not just the total but the mix of players involved. It suggests City are being ruthless about squad hierarchy and timing, which is often where elite clubs make or lose value. The currency debate is a distraction, but it has definitely helped the post blow up.
 
Can we talk about the officials for a second because the way this thread has gone is exactly what happens when football discourse gets hijacked by nonsense and half the comments are just people doing the same old routine about lawyers and charges and money laundering while nobody mentions that these valuations only ever seem to become a problem when City are involved, it is always some dramatic moral panic instead of anyone actually explaining why the numbers are supposedly wrong or why the league lets this stuff get presented in the first place, and then you have people pretending to be shocked that a rich club sells players for big fees, well no shit, that is the game now and the constant moaning is just noise
