Cole Palmer and the quiz show moment

Cole Palmer coming out smiling and breezing through a football knowledge game is exactly the sort of harmless football content that makes the rounds. It feels very on-brand for him somehow, like he is fully aware this is a bit and is enjoying every second of it.

The whole thing also has that slightly funny edge where you can already hear people saying the questions were tailored for him. Maybe they were, maybe they were not, but it was still entertaining to watch and he looked absolutely delighted with himself.

Fair play to anyone who can stay that relaxed in front of cameras and a proper quiz setup. Some lads look like they are being dragged through a tax audit, and Palmer looks like he is having the best day of his life.

The key thing is how quickly he settled into it. If the questions are even slightly Chelsea leaning, he still has to answer under pressure, and he did that with proper composure.

not even joking this is the happiest ive seen him look in ages and its just a quiz clip about football knowledge and chelsea stuff which makes it even better, proper wholesome bit of content tbh

It was still impressive because he answered quickly under pressure. Even if the theme suited him, that does not make the timing any easier.

Honestly this is the sort of clip that makes football feel a bit less miserable for five minutes because Palmer just looks like he is loving every second of it and you can tell he is completely comfortable in that setting, which is rare enough on its own. People will say the questions were Chelsea-heavy and maybe they were, but the man still had to react quickly and not freeze up like half of them would. And that smile, honestly, it is ridiculous, like he has just won a prize on some school quiz and not been put through a proper media thing. I swear some players look like they are being held hostage whenever a camera is near them, and then there is Palmer just grinning away like he has had three pints and a free afternoon, absolute scenes, more of this nonsense please because it is miles better than the usual bland stuff and if anyone says they wouldnt enjoy it they are lying

Some of you are acting like he solved the fucking Da Vinci Code when it was basically Chelsea trivia and a big grin for the cameras, calm down lads he has not invented football knowledge

If we are being honest the whole thing just makes me think of how much people overhype certain players when they do the bare minimum on camera and then suddenly its all personality and aura and vibes and whatever else, but with Palmer at least it feels like he is actually a decent watch because he does not come across like he is trying too hard. The haircut though, mate, what is going on there, it looks like he has let a mate have a go with the clippers in the car park and somehow nobody stopped him, and every time he appears on screen I end up staring at that before anything else. Still, I cannot even fully hate on it because the lad has that deadpan look about him where he could be doing absolutely anything and it would still seem funny, but the haircut is criminal and someone needs to intervene before it gets worse

I get the bias argument but people are acting like that automatically makes it meaningless when it clearly still takes a bit of nerve and quick thinking to get through it without fluffing the answers, not everything has to be some grand conspiracy
