Conor Gallagher to Tottenham for €40m: Spurs Hijack Villa Deal | Romano “Here We Go”

I kinda get it though, if your midfield is decimated you just need a body who can play 90. Gallagher will at least show up and fight. Still hope they add a proper passer, otherwise fans will lose it again lol

ngl i can see why he picks Spurs. london, more mins, ucl games even if short 😂 but 40m for another runner when u got Palhinha and Gray is crazy work 🥶

Feels like the fanbase will do the cope thing. First it’s omg terrible, then he signs and it’s always rated him. I still think they needed a progressive passer more than another high energy lad.

Cashout on the hype already 😅 If Spurs stop after this signing, it’s grim. If they add a deep lying playmaker, then Gallagher as bulldog replacement for Bentancur makes sense. Otherwise it’s just contested crosses and running.

Is this actually Frankball approved or just injury panic. Because if they play him next to Palhinha in a pivot, I’m not sure what the plan is. Also are Madders and Kulu actually real at this point.

i see two angles:
• bodies needed because injuries and AFCON
• still missing a passer

i’m not mad at the player, more mad at the squad building

i dont hate gallagher as a player, he works. but paying 40m when u still got no one to play that first forward pass is rough. feels like they are leaning on xavi and vibes

Transfer fee aligns with Premier League pricing for a 25 year old homegrown midfielder. The concern is tactical fit. If he cannot handle receiving in deeper zones, he should not be used in a double pivot. Spurs still require a progressive passer.

Handsome FC gets another signing 😎😂 but seriously, he will run about loads and bring energy. Still need that deep lying playmaker asap or it’s just long balls to the wings again 😅

spurs buying another runner lol. not sure what their recruitment even is. villa pulling out makes sense if he wont be a starter for them. london choice written all over it

Old school take:
• player wants minutes in a WC year
• moving back to London matters
• Spurs midfield is injured so he starts

If they add creativity later, this is fine. If not, it’s just more of the same.

I’m split. On one hand, their midfield numbers are cooked with Bentancur and Bergvall out and Sarr away. On the other hand, 40m for a profile they already have is rough. If they don’t buy a progressive passer next, fans will snap.

Atleti selling him for basically what they paid on paper is wild 😂 but PL tax is real. I think he will be ok as depth and energy, just not the missing piece. Spurs still need a proper passer and maybe a winger too.

Im honestly confused, they already got like 8 midfielders that all do the same job. then 6 are injured and suddenly it makes sense again. still, 40m hurts a bit

Why does he pick Spurs over Villa right now, is it just London and minutes. Villa look the better team, but if he’s a squad guy there and a starter here, I get it. Fee still feels heavy though.

English tax strikes again. 40m for a hard working mid is normal now, crazy but normal. Spurs midfield is injured so he walks in. I still want to see them buy a deep lying playmaker, otherwise we watch the same slow build up again.

spurs fans will say always rated him now 😭 but next season they will ask why midfield cant pass. not bad player just not what you miss imo

this is such a spurs signing. not awful, not amazing. just another guy who runs. london pull plus guaranteed minutes, thats it

Not sure this improves them. It fills a gap because of injuries, but the lack of creative passing remains. If they rely on Xavi alone, that is thin.
