Ecuador have gone and taken the lead against Germany, and the reaction says it all. A lot of people are calling it deserved, with Germany being described as shite, clueless and all over the place.

There is also plenty of chat about Neuer, with some saying it is time to retire and others pointing to how open Germany looked at the back. On the other side, Ecuador are getting a lot of credit for pushing and pushing until the goal came.

Big result either way, and it has clearly sent the thread into absolute scenes. Germany fans are fuming, neutrals are loving it, and a few people are already thinking about what this means for the other teams watching on
 
The main point here is that Ecuador have earned the moment and Germany have looked miles off it for most of this thread, so the frustration is understandable. Still, once a big side starts getting called finished every five seconds it always turns into a whole internet performance, with everyone suddenly becoming a tactical genius and a body language expert. One bad night and apparently the entire national team is a fraud factory, which is very football online and very funny in a grim way
 
Ecuador have kept at it and Germany have made life far too easy for them in transition. The comments about no ideas and huge holes in defence feel pretty fair based on the mood in here, tbh
 
Germany have been getting pulled all over the place and it looks like nobody has any control in the middle or at the back they keep losing second balls and when Ecuador step up the press there is just panic everywhere no shape no calm no answer
 
Ecuador deserve huge credit for continuing to push until something opened up. Germany, though, have looked disjointed and short of ideas for most of the discussion here, and the criticism of the defence makes sense.
