Endrick to Liverpool talk gets laughed off

So apparently Liverpool came knocking for Endrick, but he’s supposedly shut the door on them. On the face of it, it sounds like one of those transfer stories that gets everyone chatting for five minutes and then turns into pure banter when you actually read it properly

A lot of the reaction has been less about the move itself and more about the headline. Some are saying it was never realistic anyway, others are asking why he’d swap one bench for another, and a few are taking the usual swipe at Madrid and ESPN for the way this has been framed

Still, it does raise the same old question around young talent and game time. If he really is staying put, then fair enough, but it’s another reminder that not every big-name rumour is a genuine chase

If the story is true then it is fair enough that he wants to stay where he is, because Real Madrid is still Real Madrid and players do not exactly rush out of there. But Liverpool fans acting like this was some huge miss is a bit much, because the whole thing sounds like the kind of speculative nonsense that gets thrown around every window. Also, if he is not getting games then that is the part that matters, not the badge on the shirt, and you can see why people are asking what the actual plan is. Still though, the headline is hilarious and the replies are even better, because half the thread sounds like everyone is trying to outdo each other with the same joke over and over, absolute circus really

The sensible angle is that Liverpool probably had a look, got told no, and moved on, which is normal enough in football. But the whole discussion around it has turned into this bizarre referendum on Madrid, ESPN, and whether every teenager in Spain should be forced to leave for minutes elsewhere. Then you get the usual stuff about why would he go there, why would he go anywhere, why trade one bench for another, and suddenly everyone is acting like they are running a recruitment department. Honestly half the time these stories are less about the player and more about people wanting to argue over who has the better project, which is football discourse in a nutshell tbh

Im just laughing at the whole thing really because the way people are talking youd think Liverpool were at his front door with a suitcase and he slammed it in their face, but it sounds like one of those rumours that gets bigger every time it gets reposted and now everyones pretending they knew the outcome all along

Had a lad in the pub last night saying every time a Madrid youngster gets linked away it is basically a sign the journalist needs clicks and he was probably right because this feels exactly like that sort of thing where everyone piles in and starts arguing about game time and project and who has the better badge and then by the third pint nobody even remembers what the original story was supposed to be anyway and some old bloke starts saying back in his day players would fight for their place and another one says modern football is finished and then you are sat there thinking yeah this is just transfer season nonsense all over again

I mean people are acting like this is some huge Liverpool humiliation but if he has decided to stay at Madrid then fair play to him because that club has a pull that most teams simply do not have and it is not like he owes anybody a move just because fans want a shiny new toy. The bigger point is that young players at top clubs are often judged way too quickly, and if he is not starting it does not automatically mean he is stuck or ruined or whatever people are saying. There is always a bigger picture with these lads and sometimes the patience pays off, so the constant bench jokes are a bit lazy honestly

Can we also talk about how every one of these transfer stories gets twisted into a certainty the second it hits social media because the media and the fanbase both feed off the same rubbish and then everyone acts shocked when it turns out to be nothing? People are saying confirmed this and confirmed that but half the time there is no actual source on the page, just someone claiming someone else said it, and then you have the usual pile on with jokes about doors and benches and whatever else. It is the same with officials too, once the narrative starts nobody wants facts anymore they just want outrage and it is bloody exhausting
