Enzo's post has England rattled

Enzo Fernandez has managed to set off a proper storm with an Instagram post after England's defeat to Argentina. Some people are calling it brilliant banter, others think it's over the line, and a few reckon it just proves how easily football fans get wound up online.

What stands out is how split the reaction is. If you think this is just part of the game, you'll probably laugh it off. If you're an England fan, though, it's the sort of thing that feels designed to get right under your skin.

Either way, it has done exactly what these posts are meant to do: get everyone talking, arguing, and taking sides. So was it clever trolling or just needless pettiness?
 
I swear some people are acting like Enzo personally ended football with this post when all it really is is him taking the piss after a big win and honestly thats what annoys me about him more than anything because he always comes across like he wants the attention and then when it backfires everyone has to pretend its just harmless banter, he was already doing the most before and now every time he pops up its some new bit of nonsense, proper attention merchant behaviour and the worst part is he plays in England so he knows exactly what hes doing and still goes ahead with it like hes untouchable, it just makes me roll my eyes every time his name comes up because theres always something with him
 
Had a mate in the pub last night who does not even watch much international football and he saw this on his phone and just started laughing for about five minutes straight because he said it was the sort of thing you only do when you know it will wind people up, then another lad at the bar who supports England proper lost his head over it and started going on about respect and class and all that, but the whole place just ended up taking the piss out of each other until closing time and honestly that is football now isnt it one post and everyone is arguing like its a cup final, absolutely mental
 
enzo has basically spent the whole day living rent free in england fans heads and thats the funniest part of it all because the actual post is nothing major but the reaction is massive and now every timeline is full of people pretending they are above it while clearly being raging
 
The post is designed to needle England supporters, and it obviously succeeded. At the same time, it is hard to argue it crosses some huge line when this kind of football banter happens constantly.
