nah this was a self own. high line was cool when it worked, but if your CBs keep ending up in emergency mode then the setup is kinda snitching on itself 😅
 
Seen this too many times with Barca in Europe. Always some silly moment, always everyone shocked after. At some point it stops being a curse and starts being the personality of the team.
 
i actually think the funniest part is people saying trust the keeper. mate if Sorloth goes clean through there most defenders are taking the foul every time, especially that late. the risk is the red, but the goal probably kills the tie too
 
few things for me
- contact is light
- run is dangerous
- kounde is close but not that close
still feels like one of those where fanbase decides first and replay second
 
Barca are the most stoppable unstoppable team around. can slice teams open, can also explode because one defender gets nervous for half a second
 
That high line is basically a dare at this point 😂 one ball over the top and everybody starts writing think pieces
 
People saying there is no foul need new glasses. Saying it is definitely red without discussing Kounde is also lazy. Both things can be debated.
 
Got three takeaways from this:
- Sorloth timing was class
- Garcia panicked
- Barca fans were always gonna bring up Olmo after that
Fair enough, honestly.
 
This is why I never buy the 'we dominated' line in these games. Atleti were always one direct ball from making that back line look stupid, and eventually they did.
 
proper chaos this one. i thought yellow live because i saw kounde in the frame, then the wider angle made it look way worse for Barca. nasty ball, nasty decision
 
not gonna lie i laughed. not because its some robbery, more because it felt like everybody watching knew a Barca red was somehow loading
 
Question though, if he lets Sorloth go and it becomes 1 v 1, are people really praising the defending? I doubt it. He chose the ugly option and got punished.
 
For me the inconsistency is the entire story. I can live with this being given. I cannot live with this being given after earlier contact on Olmo was waved away like nothing. Fans hate randomness more than strict refereeing.
 
feel like people are mixing two separate debates. was it soft? yes. was sorloth through enough to make red possible? also yes
