Foreign managers and the World Cup

The thing that annoys me is when people use stats like this to pretend the officials of football history have some kind of hidden agenda or that there is a mystical barrier stopping foreign managers, when really it is just the usual nonsense of tournaments being rare, federations being cautious, and the best jobs going to whoever is already trusted by the country, and then every cycle people start with the same talk and ignore how much the structure of the competition itself favours continuity, so no I am not buying any grand theories from this at all, just a quirky fact and nothing more

A lot of this conversation always ends up with one manager getting dragged through the mud as if he personally caused the entire history of the World Cup, and I am tired of that because the job is not just about tactics it is about working with a federation, handling pressure, and somehow making a short tournament line up perfectly, so when people say a foreign boss cant win it they are really just looking for an easy target and ignoring the bigger picture, same old football scapegoating, absolute joke

its more about who gets hired than any rule about nationality really, if a federation trusts its own coaches then thats who will get the chance and then the stat just keeps repeating itself

had not actually thought about this before and now im weirdly obsessed with it, because every time i picture a final i can only imagine the manager standing there like they are about to be part of some cursed trivia question, mental stuff really
