Forest may be paying for a specific tactical profile here rather than pure goals. If they want a forward who can occupy defenders, press and give them a different option, the fee becomes easier to understand. It is still expensive, but the fit matters.

I get why people are focusing on the fee because it is the easiest thing to laugh at, but there is always a second layer to these moves that gets ignored until the player either works or doesnt and then everyone rewrites the whole story. Forest might just be buying a player who suits their shape better than he suited Chelsea, or they might be paying over the odds because the market has completely lost the plot, and honestly both things can be true at once, what I do know is that every time one of these deals happens the same clubs get praised for being clever while the rest of us are left asking how the numbers keep getting bigger and why nobody seems embarrassed about it any more
 
forest fans are gonna convince themselves he is a proper shithouse and a 20 goal striker by october and honestly fair play because thats how you survive these fees, the whole thing is just football accounting gone mad and somehow everyone still acts surprised when the next club gets rinsed
