Fulham v Chelsea thriller and the Lacroix madness

That was a proper mad half of football. Chelsea nicking the lead with Morgan Rogers on 41 and the whole thing turning into a total end-to-end scrap feels exactly why people love these chaotic league games.

The biggest talking point has to be Lacroix doing something nobody expected and Palmer looking back to his lively best. Fulham defensively looked all over the place at times, but credit where it is due, both sides just kept going at it.

Feels like one of those matches where every minute brings another moment. Absolute thriller so far, and the comments are full of people basically losing their minds over it.

People are going way overboard with the Fulham defence chat tbh it is not like they have been some disaster class from minute one theyve just been dragged into a game where Chelsea are moving it quicker and Palmer is finding pockets everywhere and once that starts happening defenders look stupid because the angles are gone and the press is late and suddenly everyone is acting like the back line has forgotten how to play football, but this is exactly what happens when you get a proper open game and one team keeps forcing transitions, you get moments like that and then everyone piles in on the defenders as if the whole thing is only about one mistake when really it is the shape and the speed and the fact that Chelsea are just more alive at the minute

I am sorry but that Leno moment is going to get talked about for ages because what on earth was he doing there, he looked completely stuck between two minds and the whole thing just screamed panic from the second the ball was in that area, and before anyone starts trying to spin it into some genius pressure trap or whatever, it was a mess, a proper mess, the kind of thing that makes keepers look like they have been told to hold triangle on FIFA and pray, and it is even worse because you can see the whole move building and then one tiny hesitation and suddenly the goal is there and everyone is staring at him like he has lost the plot

palmer just looks so much sharper now and chelsea are finding him in better spots which is making everything else click more and fulham cant keep leaving gaps like that because theyre getting pulled apart every time the ball turns over

Chelsea look much more coherent when Palmer is involved early and often. Fulham are still in it, but they need to settle down defensively before this gets away from them.

Honestly this is exactly the kind of game that makes you remember why people moan about defending but also why we all sit there glued to the screen because every two minutes something mad is happening and you can barely keep up with who is supposed to be where and then Palmer pops up again and Lacroix is suddenly playing like a winger and Leno is doing whatever that was and you just know if your team is involved in this you are either loving life or absolutely fuming because there is no middle ground in a game like this and the energy is just completely off the charts and every touch feels like it could lead to something massive

Was in the pub for this and the whole place went from normal chat to everyone standing at the screen like they had been personally insulted by the last five minutes, one bloke near me kept shouting that Lacroix was playing right wing and another lad was convinced Leno had pressed the wrong button on his controller, and to be fair it felt like that because the game just would not calm down at all, every pass seemed to start another argument, every run looked like it might end in a goal, and by the time Rogers got his moment people were already half way through their pints and losing their voices, absolutely mental stuff from start to finish

Nah I dont think its fair to pin this all on Fulham defenders when Chelsea are the ones forcing the game into these wild areas and Palmer is basically running the show if your midfield cant track him then the back line is always going to look exposed

i was expecting a cagey game and now im just sat here laughing every time the ball goes near the box because something ridiculous keeps happening and palmer looks proper lively again
