Gordon to Barca over Bayern?

Bit of a mad one this. Bayern were meant to be the favourites, had a late bid knocked back, and now the story is that Gordon has his heart set on Barcelona and the Camp Nou. That is a proper headline for a player some people still do not rate as elite level.

It also throws up the usual questions about how much pull Barca and Real still have compared to everyone else, and whether Bayern are really prepared to get dragged into this kind of transfer fight. Meanwhile the fee, the wages, and the Rashford angle all feel like a separate soap opera.

Still, if Gordon really has picked Barca, that is a huge move for him and a massive talking point for everyone else. What do you make of it all?

People keep acting like Gordon is some random punt but the lad has clearly got something about him and that is why these clubs are even in the mix, what winds me up is the way everyone jumps straight to fee talk and starts calling it madness before he has even kicked a ball, if Barca want him then fine let them have him, if Bayern wanted him then clearly there is a profile there, pace, work rate, direct running, all that stuff managers love, and yet the second he gets linked people act like he should be grateful for a mid table move instead of a giant club, proper weird behaviour tbh

People are acting like this is some joke transfer but if you actually look at it from the player side it makes sense to want Barcelona over Bayern, the history, the lifestyle, the chance to be part of something massive, that matters and it is not just about spreadsheets and fee discourse, Gordon is not some nobody either, he is a proper player and if Barca see him as a fit then fair enough, I am not having all this nonsense about him being overrated just because the name on the shirt does not match the usual fan fantasy, the lad deserves respect and the club he chooses does not make him any less valid, honestly the disrespect is ridiculous

Bayern probably saw a wide player who can press, carry and attack space, while Barca likely see an outlet to stretch teams and work with the forwards they already have, but the whole thing still feels like a market move rather than a football romance no ending punctuation

Scouse-lona is doing heavy lifting here, absolutely ridiculous combo and I am here for it no ending punctuation

Honestly I just like seeing a transfer story where it is not the same Premier League merry go round again. Bayern and Barca going for the same player makes it feel a bit bigger than usual and I can see why people are buzzing

If the move is really wrapped up early, that should help him settle before the next tournament. It is a cleaner situation than dragging uncertainty through international duty.
