Gordon to Barca over Bayern?

The interesting part is not just the club names, it is the fit. If Barca are chasing him then they clearly think his running and intensity solve a problem for them. Bayern usually do not enter these fights for no reason either, so there must be real belief on both sides.

People overrate the glamour of this move like it is automatically genius when really it might just be two huge clubs panic bidding because the market is cooked no ending punctuation

I dont buy the idea that Bayern are somehow mugs here, if they wanted him then they obviously saw a role and that doesnt suddenly become fake because Barca got mentioned no ending punctuation

The wages angle is probably the most revealing part here. If the numbers are as high as reported, it shows just how much top clubs are willing to pay for a specific profile, even when the player is not universally seen as a superstar.

The officials would still somehow find a way to ruin the presentation if this happened I swear, every big transfer story turns into a debate about money, rules, structures and who can actually afford what, and then someone starts comparing wages with another player and the whole thing becomes a circus, it is all very entertaining until you realise half the comments are just people pretending they understand the financial side better than the clubs and the other half are just winding each other up over one line in a report

Barcelona always do this, always drag everyone into a saga and make it feel like destiny even when the numbers are absurd. Bayern fans will say they dodged a bullet, Barca fans will say it is proof the club still has pull, and everyone else is just sat there wondering how a move like this can even be real and honestly it is exhausting but also kind of brilliant because this is exactly why football never shuts up and why every summer turns into madness and people lose their heads over one winger

If Gordon really picked Barca over Bayern then fair play to him but the whole thing is still ridiculous because one minute people are saying he is not elite and the next minute two giants are fighting over him and suddenly everyone is acting shocked, that is football though, total nonsense, one report and everyone becomes an expert on fit, wages, pull, image, all of it, and then by next week half of them will pretend they always rated him anyway

From a footballing point of view, both clubs probably see a player who can give them width, pressing and direct running, which is why the interest makes sense even if the price feels inflated. From a fan point of view though this is exactly the sort of story that turns into tribal nonsense within minutes, and the worst part is people who have probably barely watched him are suddenly ready to declare he is world class or useless depending on which badge they support, absolute clown show tbh

barca fans will call this a masterclass and bayern fans will say they never wanted him anyway but everyone knows this kind of story only happens when the player has real pull and the money is stupid

It is easy to laugh at the fee, but clubs at this level rarely chase a player unless they see a clear role for him. The bigger question is whether the fit at Barcelona is actually stronger than the move to Bayern would have been.

I can see why people are sceptical, because the price tag makes it feel bigger than the player profile on paper, but if two of the biggest clubs in Europe are really in for him then there has to be a reason imo
