Guendouzi and the Lyon fan chaos

I know people love to jump straight to blaming the player because Guendouzi has that reputation for winding people up, but I am not having it in this case because the whole thing starts with a supporter deciding to go over the line and put hands on people who are literally on the pitch doing their jobs, and once that happens the players are entitled to react, simple as that, people keep acting like fans are these harmless victims but plenty of them spend ninety minutes screaming abuse and then are shocked when someone finally answers back, so no I am not buying the usual moral panic here, the idiot in the stands is the problem and the rest is just noise
 
Watching that clip i just kept thinking this is why you never go looking for trouble in a crowd of footballers because its never going to end well for you and somehow people still do it, proper mad
 
The whole thing is just another example of people not understanding consequences at all because if you are in the stands and decide to climb down and get involved with a player then you are no longer a fan at that point you are just some idiot creating a problem for everyone else and you should not be surprised when the reaction is immediate and messy, Guendouzi being Guendouzi obviously adds fuel because he is never far from some drama but that does not excuse the bloke in white or anyone else who thought this was a clever idea, and the security side of it is even more worrying because if one person gets through that easily then what else is happening outside the ground when people are waiting about after the game
 
Lyon fans acting like their hands are clean is hilarious when one of them literally goes into the pitch and starts it all, proper victim act from the lot of them and then they wonder why everyone is calling them out
 
There are two separate issues here: Guendouzi’s reputation for provoking people, and a supporter crossing the line into physical confrontation. The second is the serious one, because it turns a heated moment into a safety problem.
 
The sensible take is that once a fan enters the field, players are never going to react perfectly and the focus should shift to security and punishment for the person who caused it. But then you remember this is football and somehow every idiot with a camera thinks they are part of the story, so now there will be endless clips, people picking sides, and everyone pretending they would have stayed calm in the same situation when in reality half the ground would be losing their minds too
