Harry Kane's post-match voice had the studio in bits

The key thing here is that the comedy came from the contrast between the seriousness of a post-match interview and how little voice he actually had left. Once the studio reacted, it stopped being a routine interview and turned into a bit of live television chaos. The interviewer probably could have wrapped it up quicker, but the awkwardness is what made it memorable.

bro sounded like he had been chain smoking in a karaoke bar for six hours and the interviewer still wanted a full documentary out of him absolute madness

I get why everyone found it hilarious because the voice was outrageous, but at the same time the bloke had just come off the pitch and looked done in. The studio reaction was probably the best part, though, because you could tell they were all trying not to lose it tbh

honestly i dont even think the interview was the funniest bit it was the way everyone else in the room was trying not to laugh while he was just standing there sounding like he had borrowed his voice from someone else and you could tell he knew it too because every answer came out worse than the last

This is exactly why football is still the best entertainment on telly sometimes because you get these completely unplanned moments where everyone goes off script and the whole thing becomes comedy gold without anyone even trying and Kane just happened to be the poor bloke at the centre of it, but honestly the interviewer should have clocked it after the first answer and just ended it there because dragging on with another question was basically bullying at that point and the studio reaction only made it all more ridiculous because now youve got pundits completely losing their heads over a man who can barely speak and it turns into one of those clips that gets replayed forever and people start making all the usual jokes about Kermit and Muppets and Wonderwall and whatever else and it just snowballs into a proper internet moment

He was clearly finished by the time that interview started and it felt like every question just made him sound even more battered which is why it got so funny so quickly but honestly if you are going to do a post match interview you owe it to the player to at least let him get one sentence out before piling on the third question because he was already sounding like a broken toy and the whole thing turned into a bit of a circus around him rather than about him and I know people are loving it because memes and all that but imagine being the lad trying to speak and every reply comes out like a squeak while the whole studio is basically collapsing laughing at you

I get why people are laughing but it is mad how quickly everyone forgets the actual moment he had just been through because all the focus is on the voice and the interview instead of the effort and emotion behind it. He still fronted up and gave what he had left, and that should count for something. Loads of players would have hidden away, so fair play to him even if the clip is hilarious
