Hull back in the Premier League

What a mad turn of events for Hull City. From being written off to getting the job done against Middlesbrough and going up, it feels like one of those proper football chaos stories that only the Championship can deliver.

There are a few angles to this one too: the xG crowd will hate it, the lawyers are apparently in the mud, and Boro fans are left wondering how it all slipped away. Fair play to Hull though, because whatever people thought of them, they found a way when it mattered.

Also, this is exactly the sort of result that will be getting dragged out in pub quizzes for years. Championship football never disappoints, does it?

proper championship nonsense this, one minute theyre getting written off and the next theyre back in the prem, xg lads in absolute bits again and i love it because football still finds a way to laugh at the spreadsheets

Fair play to Hull, they kept going when loads of people had already written them off. Boro will be sick about that, but promotion is promotion and you cant argue with the end result tbh

Hull probably looked all over the place for chunks of the season but the bigger picture is they got results when it mattered most and that is basically the whole game in the championship, you can dominate all you want if youre not ruthless in the big moments youre done

This is exactly why people love the Championship. The margins are tiny, and one run can completely change the narrative around a club. Hull have gone from being dismissed to being back in the Premier League, and that is a huge achievement.
