Hull City's Instagram post is pure shithousery

Hull City’s official Instagram account has absolutely nailed it here. It’s the sort of post that feels like it was made by fans, not a corporate media team trying to be clever for the sake of it.

You can see why it’s got people talking as well. Some clubs post stuff that feels dead and overworked, but this has proper personality and a bit of bite to it.

Whether you find it funny, annoying, or both, it’s the kind of thing that makes football social media worth checking. Games back, admin back, and apparently Hull are back too.

Had this on in the pub and everyone proper lost it because one lad was just staring at his pint trying to work out if it was real or not and then the next bloke started saying no way this came from an official club account and then we all ended up arguing about whether clubs should be funny or just keep it professional and honestly I think this is miles better than the usual dead corporate stuff because at least you remember it and it gives people something to talk about all night rather than another beige graphic with a slogan on it and I’ve seen a few clubs try this and completely bottle it but Hull have actually got the tone bang on here and it feels like the admin knows exactly what theyre doing

It works because it feels confident rather than forced. A lot of clubs try to be witty online and end up sounding like they hired a bored intern, but this has a proper identity to it. That matters more than people think.

nah i dont think its that deep tbh people are acting like this is some masterclass when its just a funny post from a club account and half the hype is because united fans are taking it personally which makes it even more funny really

Honestly this is exactly why football socials are miles better when they stop pretending theyre a bank and just lean into the madness because you can tell this got made by someone who actually understands the mood of the fans and the opponent and the whole internet side of the game and that is why it lands so well and why people are sharing it everywhere because it has a bit of bite and a bit of cheek and doesnt feel like it was run through five layers of approval from someone in a suit who thinks humour is illegal but if i was on the receiving end i would still be fuming because thats just what football is like one minute youre laughing at a rival and the next minute youre the punchline and the whole thing turns into a proper wind up and thats why these accounts get attention because they know exactly how to twist the knife without even needing to say much

United fans getting wound up by a club post is actually the funniest part here because the account has basically done nothing except press the big red wind up button and watch the room go mad and honestly fair play to Hull for that
