nah i dont buy that hes englands greatest ever striker just because of one record, lineker was doing it in a different era and kane has had a lot more chances to rack up numbers anyway
 
It feels like Kane gets judged on vibes more than output sometimes, and the output is ridiculous. He keeps turning up in big moments and people still act surprised imo
 
People acting like Kane is some sort of fraud because he is not sprinting around like a headless chicken is exactly why football discourse is broken, the lad has been carrying England for years in different systems with different managers and still keeps producing when it matters, you can talk about penalties or headers or whatever but you still have to be in the right place to score them and he is always there, the movement is elite, the hold up play is elite, the finishing is elite, and the fact he has now gone past Lineker in World Cup scoring for England is not some accident or stat padding it is what happens when a proper striker keeps doing striker things for a decade while everyone else shouts about pressing and heat maps and nonsense, England fans should be celebrating instead of trying to pick holes in everything he does because when he is gone they will realise how rare this level is and how many years they wasted arguing about it
 
That record feels deserved given how often England rely on him. He has been the constant across different squads and managers.

I think that underrates how much Kane has done for England. Lineker was brilliant, but Kane’s overall influence is massive.

people still acting like kane aint one of the best england have ever had is just weird at this point he scores in every tournament and people move the goalposts every time
 
I cant lie this one feels a bit special because Lineker is such a big name and Kane has had that constant pressure on him for years, every tournament its been the same chat about whether he can deliver and now he has another record to shut people up, even if some lads will pretend it does not matter until he scores again
 
The referee talk around Kane always gets ridiculous because as soon as he is anywhere near the box people start screaming about pens and acting like every contact is a conspiracy, it gets on my nerves because the whole point is that he keeps finding the space and forcing defenders into mistakes, that is part of being a top striker, and then when he does score the same people try to diminish it by saying it was easy or it was expected, honestly football fans are impossible sometimes and the officials get dragged into it for no reason at all
