Klopp on Trump, Infantino and the Balogun red

From a footballing perspective, the key issue is consistency. If the rule is meant to protect players, then the decision has to be applied the same way every time, regardless of the names involved. Once the politics enters the picture, the whole thing becomes harder to defend.

the funniest bit is people acting like klopp has just emerged from a cave and discovered football when hes literally been around the game forever and still has more sense than half the pundits and every suit in the room, and yet the same people will defend infantino like hes some misunderstood genius when the bloke couldnt organise a decent decision if it landed on his desk with a label on it, absolute nonsense from start to finish and the way they all scramble to control the narrative after the fact is embarrassing

Klopp is right that football should not be run by people with no real connection to the game, and the reaction to his comments shows how badly this issue has hit a nerve. But I still think some fans are using it to dodge the actual red card debate, imo

You can disagree on the red card and still think the surrounding politics are a joke. That is where most reasonable people should land, because the sport needs clear rules and less interference. The whole episode just makes everyone look worse.

people acting like this is just about one tackle are missing the point and its the same every time with these power hungry clowns they turn everything into a circus and then expect fans to swallow it whole like we dont have eyes and ears and a memory
