LASK stun Celtic to reach the Champions League

From a tactical point of view this is a really interesting collapse because once the momentum shifted Celtic never really adapted and that is what makes it hurt so much, but at the same time the reaction around it is turning into pure comedy and you can already see the memes coming from every direction and people pretending they saw it all coming and the whole thing is just another reminder that football can be ridiculous and cruel and hilarious all at once because one minute youre talking about game management and the next minute youre watching a team throw away everything and the internet is absolutely feasting on it and honestly fair enough because this is the sort of thing that lives forever

Celtic will regret those missed chances from the first half, because the tie was still there for them. LASK just looked more urgent and it swung hard imo

nah i dont buy the whole celtic are cursed thing they had a lead and still had opportunities so this is on them more than some european voodoo and people acting like this was inevitable are just enjoying the meltdown a bit too much

i had this on in the background and then suddenly im sat up on the sofa staring at the screen because every update sounded more ridiculous than the last and by the end i was just laughing out loud at how far it had gone

You can say Celtic bottled it and that is fair enough but what stands out to me is how quickly the whole thing changed once LASK sensed blood because suddenly every loose touch became a problem every clearance came straight back and Celtic looked like they had no idea how to calm it down and that is the sort of thing that happens when a team gets rattled and the other side keeps believing and I know people will just make jokes about Scottish football and rinse Celtic all night but this is also a massive achievement for LASK because they had to keep the intensity up and keep forcing the issue until the tie cracked open and that is not easy at all and the madness of it is what makes it feel so brutal for Celtic because they had it there and now its gone and everyone is going to be talking about this for ages

Celtic will get the headlines for the collapse, but LASK deserve just as much praise for the way they kept their level. They did not panic after going behind in the tie, and that discipline made the difference in the end.

Some of the blame has to go to the players who completely lost their heads because there is no excuse for letting a tie swing like that when you have already built such a strong position and one or two of them looked miles off it once the pressure came on and I am not even going to name names because it would take all night but the body language was awful and the passing got sloppy and the whole thing just unravelled in front of everyone and that is on them because these are the moments you are supposed to handle if you want to be taken seriously and instead it became a total mess and now they have to wear it and rightly so

The officials will probably escape most of the blame but there were still moments where the game felt messy and inconsistent and that just adds to the frustration when a tie is already swinging wildly and you are trying to keep control of it and then the decisions seem to add more chaos and people are left arguing about everything instead of the football and it is always the same in these big European nights because once the pressure rises the refereeing becomes part of the story whether it should be or not and then everyone is shouting about angles and contact and added time and by the end nobody knows what happened except that Celtic somehow managed to let it all go and that is the part that will stick and the officials will be lucky if they do not get dragged into every discussion for the next week because these nights always end up like that and it is a bloody circus

Celtic had the tie in their hands and somehow let it slip away, which is exactly why this hurts so much. LASK deserve credit for the pressure and the belief, but from a Celtic perspective this is one of those nights that will just sit there and rot for ages because you know it should not have ended like this and yet here we are and the jokes are going to be endless and frankly they have earned them because that was a shocking way to let a chance go and the worst part is everyone saw it turning before they did
